SURREY PAY

Friday, March 16, 2007 at 12:12PM

Colleagues,

The indicative ballot result was 644 in favour of continuing industrial action and 269 against. This does not reach the threshold agreed by the Branch Committee on 21st February to continue with industrial action. The Branch Committee will be meeting again on 21st March to discuss Surrey Pay and will be making a formal decision at that meeting on the way forward .

Be assured that Surrey County UNISON will be organising regular training for new and existing stewards now and in the future so that we can organise against the continued policies of SCC that are driving down the working conditions of staff and affecting the services that we give to the people of Surrey.  Surrey County UNISON will also be in the forefront of organising solidarity with other union members, for example,  in the NHS who are suffering cuts in services and their wages and UNISON members in Southampton who are fighting sackings of care staff.

Watch this space!

Ian MacDonald

Branch Secretary .
