At this year's AGM and the Stewards' meeting in January we saw an influx of new officers and activists. This is a good sign that we are moving in the right direction.

We are holding two 'Branch Development Days' on 10th and 11th March at the SE Regional Office of UNISON in Guildford. We will be discussing recruitment, representation, communication and a branch strategy for the next 24 months. This will also be an important team building exercise.

All activists are welcome to come to these two days. All elected reps and officers are entitled to ask for time off to attend. If you wish to be added to the list, please contact the UNISON office on 0208 541 9091.

Friday 20 April to Saturday 21 April 2007 at the T&G Centre, Eastbourne [This is a residential course]

The seminar will provide an opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues affecting college members. As well as updates on the national negotiations and policy developments, there will be workshops and presentations on a range of issues such as: Job Evaluation, Equality, Stress, Leitch Review of Skills, Mergers and Governance. There will be a side meeting for Sixth Form delegates.

We have had 21 applicants for the Equalities Seminar that the SOG’s & Young Members Liaison Group and the Publicity & Campaigning Committee were intending to hold on 7th September 2006... Therefore, the Equalities Seminar is being put back to Wednesday 6th December 2006.
