MEETINGS ORGANISED TO BUILD FOR FUTURE STRIKE ACTION

Friday, December 8, 2006 at 10:06AM

Colleagues,

Whilst the strike on the 30th November was well supported in many areas ,further strike action needs to be better supported in Children's Services. It is crucial that all staff support each other in this fight for a decent wage increase.  Support also needs to be built for Approved Social Workers who are leading the way in fighting for better conditions for all of us. (See the Adult Services section of this web site. Finally, colleagues should bring issues of concern in Children's Services , to the meetings listed below, so that UNISON can take these forward. For instance high case loads, lone working etc.

The Special Branch Committee on the 6th December voted that the next day of strike action would be the 21st December, subject to UNISON Regional Office advising the Chief Executive of this decision.

I will be speaking at 4 meetings over the next two weeks , for staff in Children's Services , to build support for the potential strike on the 21st and also built support for Approved Social Workers in Adult Services.

These meetings are:

12TH DEC, 9.00-10.00 , QUADRANT COURT, ( training area)

14th DEC,  10.00-11.00,  AO2, room C2

14th DEC,  12.00-13.00,  RUNNYMEDE CENTRE

19th DEC,  10.00-11.00,  FAIRMOUNT HOUSE, room FO2

Please make every effort to attend these meetings.
